One of the main ways I consume content created by others is through email newsletters (the other is through RSS), and one of the newsletters I subscribe to is Warren Ellis’s Orbital Operations.
Here is a bit from the newsletter Ellis sent out this past Sunday, which made me laugh.
All is good. I am just very busy doing disaster capitalisms within the fiery ruins of society, just as I was taught to do by straight-to-video films of the 1980s. I feel very bad for the millennials, who were prepared for this very poorly by their culture. All they got told was that it’s “very punk to care about other peoples’ feelings” and that eating pizza is cultural appropriation. I was instructed as a child thirty five years ago that one day I’d have to murder an Australian for half a can of rusty water.
Anyway, I’m back from kicking old ladies in the back of the knee at the local food hall so I can buy meat, and everything is rolling along. How’re you?
