The ten most innovative cities in the United States,” a recent research paper points out, account for 23 percent of the national population, but for 48 percent of its patents and 33 percent of its gross domestic product.”

No surprise there. If you want to start a family you have to have resources and a reasonable expectation that you’ll continue to have resources.
